One of the common questions about outsourcing we get is ‘Where do I go to find someone who’s good?’ Well, there’s a number of sites around, such as upwork.com, fiverr.com, onlinejobs.ph, guru.com and more, but which do you choose? These are all sites that can provide people for outsourcing for different purposes. Each of them have their advantages and disadvantages.
One of the things about outsourcing to keep in mind is be really clear about what you’re outsourcing and why. Do you want to bring someone in on an ongoing basis because you need something done regularly, or is it just a one off task? (Read our next post about preparing your business to outsource)
One of the great sites for one-offs is fiverr.com. Fiverr, as its names sounds, has everything cost five dollars. You can get a voice-over done, a logo created, a whole range of different things for five dollars. On the other hand, because everything is five dollars anything you get done might not necessarily get the same quality as someone spending more time on your project. Fiverr is great for small jobs but not so great for your big jobs.
For big jobs you need to go somewhere like upwork.com or guru.com where you can engage a team or an individual to do a project. To make that successful it’s important to have a good idea of what you want and give as much detail as you can about what your expectations are. you can always cut it back afterwards if you’re not getting any interest or if you’re not getting the person that you want.
If you’re looking for someone to work on an ongoing basis, you’ll want to go to sites like onlinejobs.ph where you can where you can engage a Filipino staff member for between $700-$1000 US a month. Engaging someone this way means you have someone working for you full time. They could manage your social media, transcribing your recordings, maintain your website or be your virtual assistant. Whatever you need you can generally find someone who can help you on sites like onlinejobs.ph on an ongoing basis. It’s fantastic when you’re not quite sure exactly what the job will entail but you know the type of person that you want and you have ongoing work for them.
These are just some of the places you can hire outsourced staff from. There are a number of others but these are some of the bigger ones.
